Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely! The west coast of Barbados has some of the calmest, safest beaches you'll find anywhere, perfect for toddlers and young children. Antigua's beaches are equally family-friendly. Resorts have excellent kids' clubs, shallow pools, and child-friendly menus. The warm, gentle water and safe environment make it ideal for families.
Both are excellent! Barbados offers more infrastructure, restaurants, and activities off the resort. Antigua has more beaches (365!) and feels slightly more remote and exclusive. Barbados is great for families wanting variety and excursions. Antigua is perfect if you want to stay put at a beautiful resort and beach hop. Both have excellent family hotels.
It can be, but doesn't have to be. All-inclusive resorts offer good value by including meals, drinks, and activities. Book well in advance for best prices. Shoulder season (May-June, November) offers significant savings. Local rum shops and restaurants are affordable. The experience, especially escaping UK winter, makes it worthwhile.
Overnight flights help children sleep through much of the journey. Bring tablets loaded with movies, snacks, and small toys. Many airlines offer kids' packs. Break the journey with stopovers if needed. The 8-9 hour flight is manageable once or twice a year for the paradise waiting at the other end. Worth it!
